There are two new video works on the Being Beings site,
and I love them.
Asher and Mike have been hard at work making new pieces
and making plans to make more.
I’m really enjoying how their work makes me think about different ideas
as their collaboration progresses. I can’t help but to consider their work
in the context of strong relationships and intimacy
as they become more brotherly in their camaraderie.
It’s really powerful work, I think.
When I watch the videos, my brain goes back and forth between
paying attention and thinking about all the things
I’ve wished I’d done over the past 22 years, but haven’t.
It’s as if they’re re-living their art-childhood in their videos,
but with a clever and knowledgeable foundation
and the excitement of a new-found dynamic in brotherhood.
I think being able to see the product of their merged ideas
in the form of these videos is refreshing,
being subjected to their playful respect for one another.
I like what’s going on with that duo, I’m excited to see what’s next.
Nicely done, boys.
I’ve been making some new photographs of my Dad and I for the project
A Time for Less Distance.
It’s probably a bit difficult to understand via the blog-reading perspective,
but the work will be shown at the Co-Prosperity Sphere
I believe sometime in September or October,
and around the same time at the old Spertus building in the loop for the Weisman exhibition.
Here are a few from recent festive events
such as 11 moons and 2 fireworks aligning on the day following Independence day,
grapefruit peels ageing on a plate on our living room floor.
My Dad recently brought it up to me that I said I was going to put
more photographs from Europe on here soon, sorry that I haven’t.
Being that I never really planned on putting them on here,
I’m not really sure why I said that.
Anyways, I’ve been slowly but surely putting them on my flickr account.
Check it out if you want to.
A piece of mine, the portrait of Jono, is in an exhibition at the Joyce Gordon Gallery in Oakland, CA right now.
The opening is tonight, does anyone that reads this blog live anywhere near Oakland?
If so, check out that show, yeah?
And a big shout out to the country’s independence! Hey!
Happy Anniversary, you old lady you!
And another quick shout out to Officer Alexander, hey hey!
Your gift this year was perfect, matches my shirt and everything!
I love it!
Recent ‘Birthday Boy’ Zach Abubeker has been making some great pictures lately.

This is one of my favorite pictures of his that I’ve seen in awhile.
